Representative Joey Hood

Joey Hood is a native of Choctaw County and a graduate French Camp Academy, Mississippi State University and Mississippi College School of Law. He represents District 35 in the Mississippi House of Representatives. As Representative Joey serves as Chairman of The Conservation and Water Resources committee and is a member of the Banking and Financial Services, Drug Policy, Judiciary B, Judiciary En Banc, Medicaid, Public Health and Human Services, Public Utilities & Ways and Means committees. 

Joey is a self-employed attorney in Ackerman, Mississippi. After graduating from Mississippi State University, he moved to Washington, D.C. to work for United States Senator Trent Lott. Joey also worked as a law clerk on the Mississippi Court of Appeals for Judge David Chandler. He is the former Executive Chairman of the Choctaw County Republican party.

Joey and his wife Cynthia have two sons, Jonah and Owen. They are members of Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Joey is a member of Rotary, Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce and the National Rifle Association. He also serves on the board for the Simpson Volunteer Fire Department.
